Protect your VIP with both sword and shadows, till the night is over.

10 mins

Other Names:

Setup: A Timer, 2 teams (1:3), and 2 Respawns

  • Have a timer ready to measure out the “Night”.
    • The length of Night should be 1 minute plus 15 secs for each player. (e.g. 12 players would be 4 mins [12 players * 15 sec + 60 sec])
  • Divide into two teams with 3x the number of players on one team. (E.g. 3 versus 9)
    • The larger team are the “Humans”
    • The smaller team are the “Monsters”
  • Setup 2 points (cones, landmarks, or other) as “Respawns”
  • Establish field boundaries.

  • The objective of the Humans is to protect their VIP until the end of the Night.
  • The objective of the Monsters is get the VIP out before they are banished by morning.
  • When player gets out they must return to their teams respawn
    • Human respawn is a 15 count
    • Monster respawn is a 5 count
  • Before the start of the game Humans will have a short time to decide who their VIP is and to make sure all other HUMANS know who it is. The Humans should not let the Monsters know who the VIP is!
  • Start the game with each team close to their respawn, begin the timer when the game starts.
  • The game continues until
    • The timer runs out and the Night ends, at which point the Humans win!
    • OR the VIP gets out, and the Monsters win!

  • Boundaries – Giving the Humans boundaries to stay within can force them to protect and play as a team.
  • Respawn – Smaller fields and/or teams should have quicker respawn. Longer respawn the larger things get.
